Words of Grace

Ephesians 4:29 - Let no UNWHOLESOME word proceed from your mouth but only such a word that gives Grace to all who hear. I read all the time of words, their effect. Being raised reading the Bible, the verse above was taught to me as “don’t cuss”. Now, after taking years to actually study to learn for myself, I realize that word, unwholesome, means rotten or worthless. Well, now, that puts a new perspective on it! All the words where I tear myself down, saying how ugly, fat or stupid I am and where my words are turned towards others doing the same Is the true meaning here! So, words matter. Grace is a huge word! In this verse it means kindness. Kind to me first so I can be kind to another! Words matter! Catch yourself and practice kindness. Practice Grace. Give it to you first, then you will be more able to extend it to others! Words affect the atmosphere. Change your atmosphere with your words! You are worthy!
