First, this is a relatively new virus that has potentially been around for awhile and has just become a virus seen outside of Africa.
The form we deal with is from West Africa, in particular, Nigeria. It is the least fierce compared to the Central Africa form out of Konga. This virus is a sexually transmitted disease much like HIV. The CDC and the WHO, are now giving information out regarding this fact.
How does this affect humanity? If one has multiple sex partners the risk is much greater. Like many viruses, it can be spread, through body fluids, and so it is important to know that sneezing, coughing and fevers are another contagious dynamic. Children seem most susceptible and can die quickly from this. The vaccine available is the smallpox vaccine. If one has had that, the risk is lessened.
Washing hands is, as always a good hygiene. Knowledge that condoms can help protect but only about 94%.
Healthcare workers are always potentially exposed and must follow protective measures.
I will speak to the soul and spirit issue here. Fear is our worse enemy! Fear creates sickness in the body, soul and spirit. Live well in faith and hope!
Be well!
