One of the first things I learned in natural medicine was how important pH alkalinity is to health. pH can be tested several ways but the easiest is saliva. The way the body tells us we are acidic is in inflammation. Inflammation is seen as pain, swelling, and “itis” diseases. Swinging the pendulum in our favor requires three dynamics; body - eating alkaline foods, mind - keeping thoughts positive, spirit - meditation/prayer. There is a lot of thought processes on pH “foods” but the simplicity of it is, RAW. Fruits and Veggies that are fresh and if heated, mildly heated through steaming or stir fry in a coconut, hemp or avocado oil. Keep produce crispy! Avoiding processed foods is best! I said, “raw food” once to someone and they said, “I AM NOT EATING RAW MEAT!” LOL! The other concept for alkalinity is 75% raw food daily! The visual is to divide a plate (any size) and half the plate is raw food, 1/3 is protein, 1/3 is complex carbs. Green foods are alkaline; spinach, kale, collards...keep in mind if you take anti-coagulants green foods should be approved by your health care practitioner (HCP).
