OVERCOME FEAR

The more I work in and live through a pandemic, the more I realize how fear can kill. Fear can kill creativity, kindness, vision, peace. I could go on and on. What I wish to work on today is overcoming fear for the sake of SPIRIT, MIND, BODY wellness. Courage is required. Doing the opposite of fear in that moment you are in. For every negative thought or reaction, immediately ask, ”What’s the opposite of this negativity?” If you can’t define it...wait. Meditate. Pray. I typically find that the opposite is very quiet while the negative is very loud. Negative, creates that self-preservation, the idea that if “I don’t look out for me” “I’ll suffer”. Life is full of suffering. It cannot be avoided. What must be avoided is living crippled by the emotion rather than the possible reality. I’ll give an example; since we are in the fear of Covid...I hear a voice in me that says, “WHAT IF...?!” When I hear that, I place it, is it creating fear or positivity? If I feel fear, I react the opposite. I could freak out on people who do not mask and I’m testing them for Covid. I could cause more anxiety in that child who is getting tested because of my reaction. I could, well, you get it. We have a CHOICE!!!! We ALWAYS have a choice. There is a healthy thought process to fear because we should be conscious of fire, it burns. Conscious of bad people that hurt others. Conscious of gravity, and high places. Respect the natural laws given to help us by being conscious. Allowing fear to overwhelm and manage us is like playing with that match and starting a forest fire! Boundaries in our emotions can be one of the most healthy aspects for wellness. Can you identify a fear and a healthy opposite alternative?
