One of the most proven benefits for healing the vagus nerve is meditation. There is a Buddhist form called Loving Kindness, basically there are phrases repeated over and over to speak love to self. This has been shown to be extremely helpful. As a person of faith, I take great care to incorporate words and thoughts as healing. For me, Scripture speaks to this in the form of the power of Jesus to heal. Neuroplasticity speaks to the power of words and thoughts through 25 years of valid research. The Scripture says, “Take every thought captive...” When we stop our thoughts, looking at them and replacing negative ones with positive, we create new healing in our whole body! This is the benefit of meditation; quiet, stillness, deep breaths...give it a go! Toss that negativity away! It will be amazing how you will feel!
