This is my first aid kit. I’ve had a black bag with my herbal first aid supplements for 28 years. I will share some of my list with you here, understanding that a traditional first aid kit can sit beside this logically! I keep the traditional bandages, tapes, gauze, things for wounds. I have traditional lidocaine spray and steri strips.

Pain; Willow Bark is the derivative of Aspirin. Benefits include, pain relief without the concerns for irritation to stomach lining, or bleeding. Especially beneficial for headaches and backaches.

Eyebright and Bilberry are excellent for migraines, cluster headaches and tension headaches.

Turmeric/Curcumin is another great pain reliever for muscle aches and tendon pain. The added benefit is ease to stomach discomforts.

Food Poisoning should find great benefit in Activated Charcoal. This is actually used in the ED for severe cases and it’s sole benefit is absorbing poison from the blood.

Burns, Aloe is the most popular known plant. Calendula is an excellent option as well. The essential oil Lavender is a pain reliever and has shown to stop first degree burns from advancing. Eucalyptus oil is another good choice for burns.

Bug bites can be prevented and treated with Lemongrass EO.

Poison Oak and Ivy are best treated with Jewel Weed. A topical application can dry weeping and stop itching.

The beauty of plants is their great availability and so many plants can be used in so many different areas of healing. I have given just a few, and could potentially write a book on this one topic. Always consult your HCP.
