Are you hydrated?

As the temperatures inch up, it is easier to become less aware of dehydration. Sweating creates a loss of water and add activity to this, it can really tip the balance quickly! Signs of dehydration include; thirst, fatigue, dizziness, dark urine that may have a strong smell, dry eyes, throat and mouth, urination decreases if less than 4xs a day, bad breath, constipation, heart palpitations, muscle cramps or pain. I hear how most humans believe if they are drinking ANYTHING, they are hydrating. Actually, most drinks do not hydrate and definitely not as well as water. A good way to measure getting enough water is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water a day. When the brain or heart and muscles begin to react, you have begun a decent into electrolyte imbalance and it is critical to listen to your body! I love coconut water! I understand it’s not for everyone but whatever electrolyte replacement you drink, avoid added sugars, salt and food colors! These have no benefit to cells and can actually cause more harm than benefit. Pushing the body to exhaustion is really not the way to accomplish goals! Find a cool, shady place to rest. Hydrate! Then attempt to finish whatever is before you but if you are having pain, STOP! Don’t push through pain! If pain persists, get medical help immediately. Stay well, enjoy your summer, be kind to you!❤️
