Why does it matter?
“Expanding the Science and Practice of Gratitude” Berkeley.edu a two decade study reports people who practice gratitude report fewer symptoms of illness, even depression, more optimism and happiness, stronger relationships, and more generous behavior.
In my own experience, over the past 5 years, gratitude has become my number one focus! It has saved me from suicidal thoughts, clinical depression, strengthened my mental awareness of others, confirmed my faith, sustained me during opposition so that, even in the emotional turmoil my souls finds peace. It is something I am learning to practice moment by moment.
In being grateful, it may not be thankfulness for what is happening but the focus goes toward the experience or the person to be aware of positive wordings and attitudes. Giving thanks for the strength that can be in the moment.
I give thanks to my Creator. I believe He has proven Himself to me and deserves my thankfulness. What do you give thanks for? Can you give thanks even during the negative times of life? Words and thoughts lining up to create a shift in the brain bring healing.
Again “What Does a Grateful Brain Look Like?” Berkeley.edu shows that gratitude increases morality centers of the brain making individuals better for society! Hmmmm....let’s practice gratefulness for the good of the whole!
