I am currently in Honduras. My husband and I are serving with a mission team. Before I leave for any country or trip, I make sure to take a bottle of a good probiotic in a week. For diarrhea, 2 every 2-3 hours until bowels calm. Typically within 24 hours symptoms clear but may be 36 so continue the Charcoal until diarrhea  stops. For vomiting from food or water contamination, again follow the protocol for diarrhea with Charcoal.
