101 of Burns

Whether a heat burn or a sunburn, there are some simple things to try for first degree burns. My personal all time favorite, because I have seen it work wonders, is Lavendar Essential Oil. At the immediate point of a burn (from steam, heat, or sun), apply by drops onto the burn directly. I have seen burning halted in progression with this one simple step! Lavendar is also a nervine and helps with pain sensation. The other natural option that used to be the immediate response to burns, especially sunburns is Aloe. I prefer the real plant, but that's not always easiest to access. Getting a pure Aloe gel is best in place of the true plant. Combinations of Lavendar and Aloe are very good.
Another simple thing to try, that works with small areas, is a paste of ground oats (preferrably steel cut) mixed with manuka honey. Topically apply a thick paste of this combination if the skin is uncut over the burn. If the skin is cut, this is best used after some healing has occurred. This can speed up the healing process also.
Avoiding the burn process is always best, but stuff happens and being prepared for it is key to safety. Staying hydrated is vital to healing for burns. Water, electrolyte water in the form of Coconut water or another healthy alternative, raw cider vinegar can be critical to healing.
Internal stressors can respond very well to Vitamin B and something herbal like Vitamin A & D for skin healing.
Here's to a safe summer and healthy healing!
